Elinor Mullins is President of NED Biosystems, where she carries forward the company’s mission to transform the treatment of complex disease globally through development of safe, effective, accessible therapies. As NED’s first employee and working closely with the Founder and Board, for more than 15 years she has played a central role in building the company from its earliest stages, translating vision supporting strategy, operations, product development, partnerships, investor communications, grant-writing, intellectual property substantiation, and government engagement.
In her leadership role, Ms. Mullins brings continuity, integrity, and a deeply held commitment to NED’s values: scientific rigor, patient quality of life, global access, and the belief that complex diseases require bold, systems-based solutions. Her work reflects the company’s public-benefit commitment to make breakthrough therapies available not only for robust healthcare systems, but also for underserved patients and communities that lack access to today’s costly and infrastructure-intensive treatments.
Prior to joining NED, Ms. Mullins contributed to mission-driven healthcare and community initiatives, including service on the community board for the Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket foundation in support of its annual fundraising drive. She also helped market the launch of a female-focused clinic for a specialized group of sports and orthopedic surgeons and worked to close disparities in access to orthopedic services in a public orthopedic practice. She holds a BA in Cellular Molecular Biology with a concentration in Pre-Health from Connecticut College. Since 2011, she has served as Regional Coordinator for CommuniTyler, a nonprofit foundation with more than 30 international sites dedicated to “better our communities while making friends.” She is also Chair of the adult learn-to-sail program at her local volunteer-run club, where she races with an all-female crew of sailors.
